News India Live, Digital Desk: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made the sharpest attack so far on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and his previous government on the holy occasion of Chaitra Navratri. While addressing the ‘Worker Dialogue’ program organized at Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium in Gorakhpur, CM Yogi raised questions on the priorities of the SP government. He directly said that the previous governments were only interested in building the boundaries of the graveyard, whereas the present BJP government is engaged in rejuvenating the glorious temples of the state.

Temple vs graveyard: Direct attack from CM Yogi

The Chief Minister roared from the stage and said that in the earlier governments, temples did not even get basic facilities. He alleged that the public’s hard-earned money was diverted only to build the ‘cemetery boundary’. Yogi Adityanath said, “A leader of the Samajwadi Party was saying that we diverted the money from the cemetery towards the temples. We did not divert the money but used it at the right place. You loved the cemetery so you gave money there, we love the temples so we are giving money for the beautification of the temples. Whoever loves, does the same.”

Discussion on rejuvenation and development of 1500 temples

Enumerating the achievements of his government, CM Yogi said that till now his government has released funds for the beautification of more than 1500 temples in the state. He called upon the workers to go to every booth and ward level and discuss these development works. CM said that today the form of Kashi Vishwanath Dham to Maa Vindhyavasini Dham has completely changed, which has become the new identity of ‘new and grand Uttar Pradesh’.

Circle on the issue of encephalitis and electricity

While targeting Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister also reminded him of the shortcomings of the past. He asked who were those people whose feelings did not melt for the innocent children suffering from encephalitis? Yogi said that earlier Uttar Pradesh used to yearn for electricity, but today electricity is available in abundance in every corner of the state. Referring to AIIMS and other infrastructure, he said that the previous governments had deprived the people of the state of development.

Opposition accused of ‘erasing identity’

The Chief Minister said in a warning tone that the opponents had made the state dependent on its identity. He cautioned the workers and said that we should not become pawns of our opponents. Describing the construction of the grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya as a historical achievement, he said that the public will never forgive those who insulted the faith. On this occasion of Navratri, CM Yogi’s statement of ‘cemetery vs temple’ has once again heated up the politics of the state.
