The administration has completed preparations for the project of housing for the poor to be built on this illegal property of Atiq Ahmed. The state’s famous Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself is reaching Prayagraj (or related districts) on October 15 to formally inaugurate this important and public welfare project. During his visit, the Chief Minister will perform Bhoomi Pujan and lay the foundation stone of this much awaited residential project amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. Many senior ministers of the state government, local public representatives and top officials of the administration will also be present in this grand program. This step of the government is being considered as a big milestone in the direction of economic attack against criminals and welfare of the people, because the cry of the poor will now echo on the land where there used to be fear of mafia.
This project is being prepared with very modern and high quality under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the housing policies of the state government for the urban poor. All modern facilities like lift, water, electricity, sewer treatment plant, park and wide roads will be provided in this multi-storey apartment, so that the poor families living here can get an opportunity to live a better and respectable life. For this, the list of eligible and needy beneficiaries is being prepared by the administration with complete transparency, so that the dream of those families living in slums or small rented rooms and who are unable to afford their own house can be fulfilled. When the keys of these flats being built on the land of Atiq Ahmed will be handed over to the poor families, it will be a huge victory for the state government against corruption and mafia rule.
This is not the first time during the tenure of Yogi government that the illegal property of a notorious mafia or criminal is being razed to the ground with bulldozers and flats for the poor are being built there. Even before this, flats have been constructed for the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by vacating the lands of Atiq Ahmed in Lukerganj and other areas of Prayagraj and their keys have also been handed over to many families.
