The political speculation about Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister and JDU president Nitish Kumar, has intensified. Nishant, 48, has been away from politics so far, but now the discussion is in full swing that he can soon step into politics.
It is believed that he may have an entry in JDU just before the Bihar assembly elections to be held in October-November 2025 and may become the party’s future leader. However, till now neither Nitish Kumar nor JDU has received any official statement on it. Due to this suspense, the market of discussions in Bihar politics has become even heated.
Can Nishant become JDU’s future?
Nishant Kumar has received an engineering degree in Computer Science from BIT Mesra and has always kept distance from politics. But recently, he made headlines by demanding his father Nitish Kumar to make the face of the Chief Minister on behalf of the NDA in the upcoming assembly elections.
Apart from this, now he is also appearing in many public events with his father. Not only this, Harnaut – which has been the traditional assembly seat of Nitish Kumar – some posters against him have also further emphasized the discussion that Nishant’s political debut may soon.
Nitish Kumar can surround descent in questions
Nitish Kumar has always been vocal against dynasty and has made sharp attacks on the Lalu-Rabri family on this issue. In such a situation, the question arises whether he will launch his son in politics?
A JDU leader said in a conversation with Indian Express,
“Nishant is neither involved in party meetings, nor is he formally a member of JDU. Nitish Kumar has not even discussed any discussion about him in the party forum so far. In such a situation, it is possible to speculate, but nothing can be said officially. ”
If his son joins JDU while Nitish Kumar, he may face allegations of dynasty from his opponents.
