News India Live, Digital Desk: Pakistan: The first month of the Islamic calendar has started Muharram and with this there has been an atmosphere of fear and tension in Pakistan. The government is so concerned that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif himself has taken over the security system and the entire country has been converted into a fort in a way. After all, what is it that the Pakistan government sleeps on hearing the name of Muharram?
The roots of this fear are deep in the history and society of Pakistan. The month of Muharram is a very Pak and the month of gum for Shia Muslims. In this month, he celebrates mourning and taking out a procession, remembering the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain.
But many radical Sunni organizations in Pakistan have been targeting these processions. For years, there have been terrorist attacks on these processions, in which hundreds of innocent people have been killed. This Shia-Sunni tension is so deep that every year there is a risk of violence during Muharram at its peak. For this reason, the government does not want to take any risk.
The government takes these strict steps
Seeing the danger, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting and ordered “Phoolproof” security across the country. These are some big steps taken:
-
Heavy security forces deployed: Police and Rangers as well as army have been deployed in sensitive areas. Security forces are eyeing every street.
-
Mobile service off: Mobile phones and internet services will be discontinued during Muharram procession in many cities to thwart the plot of the attack. This is done so that terrorists cannot contact each other.
-
No two people on the bike: The motorcycle has also been banned on the seating (double ride) of two people, as most attackers use the bike.
-
Monitoring and Control Room: The procession is being monitored with drones and CCTV cameras on the procession. Special control rooms have been set up to deal with any untoward incident.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has appealed to the people to maintain peace and brotherhood, but the fear of old events is so high that the government is not ready to relax.
