Why did Delhi-UP start trembling in October itself? Is Cyclone Montha the reason for this?

The temperature in Delhi and many areas of North India has broken the records of the last several years. People are surprised why it is getting as cold as December in October itself? On the other hand, warning of heavy rain has been issued in many districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh (Purvanchal). A big reason is being said behind this strange weather pattern – Cyclone ‘Montha’.

Snowfall on the mountains increased the cold in the plains

According to meteorologists, one of the main reasons for the early arrival of cold this year is the untimely snowfall in the mountains. Usually, due to Western Disturbance, snow starts falling in the month of November, but this time it started in October itself. When snow falls on the mountains, the cold winds blowing from there come straight towards the plains like Delhi, UP, and Punjab, due to which the temperature drops rapidly and people start feeling shivering.

Cyclone ‘Montha’ will cause heavy rain in eastern UP

On one hand, cold has knocked in Delhi-NCR, on the other hand, the effect of the cyclonic storm ‘Montha’ formed in the Bay of Bengal is going to be visible on the weather of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in many districts of Purvanchal from Deoria, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj to Ballia and Mau. Due to this cyclone, the wind speed will also be fast, due to which the cold may increase further.

Is there any connection between cold and rain?

Experts believe that both these weather events are affecting each other. Due to the cyclone, moist winds are moving towards eastern Uttar Pradesh, due to which there are chances of rain there. At the same time, the icy winds coming from the mountains are dropping the temperature across North India. It is because of this double blow that the weather has become so unpredictable.

Cold may trouble people further in the coming days. The Meteorological Department estimates that as the month of November approaches, the temperature will drop further. In such a situation, it is advised that people take out warm clothes to protect themselves from cold and take special care of their health in the changing weather.
