When PM Modi cornered Congress with Rajiv Gandhi’s statement, asked – Which paw used to eat 85 paisa?

Addressing an election rally in Samastipur, PM Modi said that it is the NDA government which ensures that 100 paisa out of 100 rupees sent for the poor reaches their accounts directly, whereas the Congress itself admitted that during its rule only 15 paisa out of 1 rupee reached the public.

Reminding the public, PM Modi said, “There was a Prime Minister from Congress who had helplessly accepted that when his government sent 1 rupee from Delhi, only 15 paise reached the poor. Now the country has to think that which ‘claw’ ate the remaining 85 paise?”

By making this statement the Prime Minister directly targeted the corruption that took place during the Congress rule. He said that at that time the rights of the poor were robbed on the way and there was no one to ask.

Describing his government’s way of working as completely different, PM Modi said, “It is Modi’s guarantee that if 1 rupee goes from Delhi, 100 paise of 100 will reach the bank account of the poor. We opened Jan-Dhan accounts, linked Aadhaar with mobile phones and eliminated the entire army of middlemen.”

He said that the intentions of the NDA government are clear. Our aim is to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the rightful beneficiaries without any cuts or corruption. That is why NDA government is necessary in the country today, so that no one else can loot the money of the poor.

Putting a direct question before the people, the Prime Minister said, “Which government do you want? The one which will give 15 paise out of 1 rupee or the one which will give full 100 paise out of 1 rupee?” He said that this election is not just to elect an MP or a Prime Minister, but to decide whether a system that robs the poor of their rights will run in the country or one that will give the poor their full rights.

This attack by PM Modi was on the sore spot of Congress, which has always been difficult for the party to respond to. By calling himself the protector of the rights of the poor, he has put the opposition in the dock of corruption.
