According to the Panchang calculation, the Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha of Vaishakh month will start on April 15, 2026 at 12:12 am. At the same time, this date will end on the same day i.e. on April 15 at 10:31 pm. Considering the importance of Udayatithi and Pradosh Kaal Puja, it is according to the scriptures to keep the fast on Wednesday, 15th April. By worshiping Lord Mercury along with Mahadev on this day, the Mercury defects of the horoscope also get pacified.

Pradosh Kaal Puja Muhurat: Special coincidence will happen in the evening

In the scriptures, the time after sunset i.e. Pradosh Kaal is said to be the best time for worshiping Pradosh Vrat. The auspicious time of puja on April 15, 2026 will start from 6:56 pm and will continue till 9:13 pm. It is believed that Shiva worship done during this time period directly reaches Mahadev, because at this time Lord Shiva dances in a happy posture on Mount Kailash.

On the day of Pradosh fast, wake up in the morning at Brahma Muhurta, take bath, wear clean clothes and take a pledge to fast. Remain fasting or eat fruits throughout the day and take bath again in the evening. Anoint Shivling with Ganga water and Panchamrit. Do not forget to offer Belpatra, Shami Patra, Dhatura, white flowers and ashes in the puja. In the end, recite Shiv Chalisa and perform Aarti. Since it is Wednesday, offering Durva to Lord Ganesha will also be especially fruitful.
