Drizzling showers, greenery spread all around and shouts of ‘Bole Bam-Bam’ echoing in the winds… Yes, the arrival of Saavan, the most favorite and holy month of Shiva devotees, is not far away. The fifth month of the Hindu calendar i.e. Shravan month is considered the best in Sanatan Dharma from spiritual and religious point of view. According to mythological beliefs, this entire month is very dear to Devadhidev Mahadev. The joint worship of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva during this special period takes away all the troubles from the life of the devotees.
In the month of Sawan, Monday has a different and unique significance. Although the entire month is colored in the colors of devotion to Lord Shiva, but on Monday, the crowd that gathers at the Shiva temples is a sight to behold. Devotees of Bholenath remain engrossed in rigorous and sacred religious activities like fasting, Jalabhishek, Rudrabhishek and Kanwar Yatra throughout the month. In such a situation, if you too are eagerly waiting for Sawan 2026, then there is very good news for you. Let us know when the month of Sawan is starting this year and how many special opportunities are there to observe fast in it.
Sawan 2026: Know when this holy month will start and end
In a special conversation with Local 18 regarding the Panchang and calculation of dates, Priest Shubham Tiwari told that according to the North Indian Panchang (Purnimant Calendar), in the year 2026, the month of Sawan is going to start from Thursday, July 30, 2026. This time there will be special opportunities of devotion: Coincidence of 4th Monday and 4th Mangala Gauri Vrat.
