The contracting of Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for the remaining matches of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) by Delhi Capitals (DC) has been cloudy of uncertainty. According to ESPNCRICINFO report, it comes after a statement by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chaudhary, who indicated that Mustafizur is expected to join the national team for the upcoming tour of the United Arab Emirates.
On Wednesday, DC announced the inclusion of Mustafizur in the team in place of Australian batsman Jake Fraser-Macgark, which will not be available for the remaining session. However, Bangladesh has to play a two -match T20 series against UAE on 17 and 19 May.
Chaudhary told ESPNcricinfo, “As per the program program, Mustafizur is expected to go to the UAE with the team. We have not received any official message about the change in the scheme from IPL representatives or Mustafizur.”
After the UAE tour, Bangladesh has to play five T20 matches in Pakistan on 25, 27 and 30 May, as well as matches on June 1 and 3. These matches will hit DC’s final league matches, which are to be held on 18, 21 and 24 May, as well as a possible playoff matches on qualifying the team.
