Let us tell you that the deadline for the construction work of this expressway in the district limits was September, but it could not be completed. It is one of the longest expressways in the country. Its total length is 1350 kilometers. With this, it will be possible to travel from Delhi to Mumbai in 12 hours. On 12 February 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sohna-Dausa section of Delhi Mumbai Expressway.
It is claimed that the work on the portion from DND flyover to Kalindi Kunj will be completed by March 2025. Delhi to Mumbai Expressway is starting from DND flyover of Delhi. Expressway beyond Sector-62, Sahupura turn is ready, traffic has also started. Now work is going on on the expressway from DND flyover to Sahupura turn.
According to officials, the work on the portion from Kalindi Kunj to Sector-62 has been completed. Underpasses have been built everywhere. Approach roads have been built for all these. Elevated road has been built in front of Etmadpur and Barauli. Service road work has also been completed. Iron railings have been installed on the right and left sides.
Some points are made here also
Entry and exit points have been made on the bypass at Sector-30 Etmadpur, Sector-28, Baselwa Colony, Khedipul, near BPTP bridge, Sector-2, Sector-2 IMT. Underpasses have been built at all these places. The construction company has made entry and exit points around the underpass.
Six-lane service road on both sides of the expressway
The expressway has been built with a total of 12 lanes. The main carriageway is of six lanes, while the service roads on the right and left sides are also of three lanes each. Through this service lane, drivers will be able to use the main carriageway.
The work is being done in three parts
The expressway is being constructed in three parts. The stretch between Delhi's DND flyover and Mindkola village is 59 kilometres. Under the first part, construction of about nine kilometers of expressway is going on from near DND flyover in Delhi to Kalindi Kunj. Of this, seven kilometers is elevated.
After this it connects with Agra Canal by bypass near Sector-37 cremation ground. The second part is 24 kilometers till Malerna Bridge. The third part is 26 kilometers from Malerna Bridge to Sohna.
The part of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway from Alipur in Sohna is also connected here. According to the project director, this time there was more rain. Therefore the work was more affected. There were delays in shifting sewer and drinking water lines. The power line also became a hindrance. But now the work is being completed rapidly. It is expected that it will be opened for drivers by the end of this month.
