In Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, the Vigilance Department on Tuesday arrested a doctor working in a government hospital red-handed while taking an alleged bribe of Rs 5,000. The officers provided this information. According to officials, Dr. Ankur Thakur, an orthopedic specialist working at Rudraprayag District Hospital, was arrested while acting on a complaint. The complainant had complained to the Vigilance Department that Dr. Thakur was demanding a bribe of Rs 5,000 for getting the disability certificate made.
Officials said that after the investigation of the complaint confirmed the demand for bribe, the vigilance department laid a trap and arrested the doctor red handed while taking bribe.
He said that a case has been registered against the doctor under the Prevention of Corruption Act and action is being taken.
