US-Iran War Update: Terrible chaos in the Strait of Hormuz! Major attack by Iranian cruise missile on UAE oil tankers, 1 Indian sailor killed, 6 injured

The ongoing war between America and Iran (US-Iran War 2026) has now taken a very scary and violent turn. Two large oil tankers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been attacked devastatingly by cruise missiles fired by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, the most sensitive sea route in West Asia.

In this high-profile missile attack, one Indian crew member (sailor) has tragically died, while six other Indian civilians have been seriously injured. Due to this severe military tension, the global energy market and international maritime security have completely collapsed.

UAE tankers targeted in Oman’s maritime zone

According to an official statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Defence, this cowardly attack was carried out on two national oil tankers – Mombasa and Al Bahiyah – passing through the southern navigation route of the Strait of Hormuz in Oman’s territorial waters.

Two hyper-precise cruise missiles fired by Iran directly hit these ships, causing a massive fire on both the tankers and huge material loss. The deceased Indian national was posted on the tanker ‘Mombasa’. Due to the promptness of other crew members present on the ship, the fire was brought under control, thereby averting a huge global environmental and economic disaster.

UAE gave strict warning; Expressed deep condolences from India

The UAE Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry have strongly condemned this barbaric attack. The UAE has termed this as a flagrant violation of international law and ‘economic blackmailing’ and piracy. The UAE administration has clearly warned that it reserves the full right to give a befitting reply to this military provocation to Iran to protect its sovereignty, citizens and national interests. Along with this, UAE has expressed deep condolences to the Government of India and the victim’s family.

Why did the fire of war flare up in Hormuz? (US Blockade Counter-Attack)

This devastating attack took place at a time when US President Donald Trump had again announced the imposition of a strict naval blockade on Iran. In response to US Central Command (CENTCOM) bombing of Iran’s coastal surveillance systems and missile sites, Iran’s navy threatened to close the strategic waterway and began targeting commercial vessels.

Iran says that they will not allow any outside power to control this waterway. Due to this war, 20% of the world’s total oil trade is on the verge of being affected.
