Monsoon has once again gained full speed in many divisions of Uttar Pradesh. Zonal Meteorological Centre, Lucknow and India Meteorological Department (IMD) have issued a warning of sudden sharp change in weather within the next few hours in both western and eastern parts of the state. Due to atmospheric pressure and active trough line, dense clouds are gathering from the National Capital Region (NCR) of Western UP to the districts of Far Purvanchal. According to meteorologists, there is every possibility of strong gusty winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour along with thunderstorms and moderate to heavy monsoon rains.
Alert in Noida, Ghaziabad and Western UP
In the districts like Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida/Greater Noida), Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr and Baghpat falling under NCR, the period of rain with strong winds is expected to start in a short time amidst the movement of clouds throughout the day. In view of reduced visibility in open areas and highways and possible waterlogging in underpasses, the local administration has advised drivers to proceed with caution.
Danger of heavy rain and lightning in these districts of Gorakhpur and Purvanchal
The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of severe thunder and lightning especially in the districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Intermittent torrential rains are expected in Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Basti, Sant Kabirnagar, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Jaunpur and Bhadohi. The effect of rain with strong thunderstorms can also be seen in the districts of Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Shravasti and Bahraich adjacent to the lowland areas of Nepal, due to which the risk of water logging in low-lying areas has increased.
