Kunal Ghosh’s sharp attack – called Sudip Bandyopadhyay a ‘traitor’

This step of Sudip Bandyopadhyay has drawn very sharp and aggressive reactions from the leaders loyal to Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata. Party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh made a direct attack on Bandyopadhyay, calling him a ‘traitor’.

Kunal Ghosh said while talking to the media:

“It is because of Sudip Da’s personal insecurity and hunger for power that TMC lost many important leaders like Tapas Roy and Sajal Ghosh to BJP. He has not only betrayed Mamata Banerjee’s trust but has also stabbed in the back the grassroots workers who worked hard to make him win in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.”

Sharing an old incident, Ghosh said that when CID had recently raided Mamata Banerjee’s residential complex, Sudip da had called and asked where he was. When Kunal said that he was at Didi’s house, Sudeep said that his wife Nayana (TMC MLA) was also coming there, but she never came. Instead, now Sudeep Da himself has reached the doorstep of BJP.

Statement of Saugata and Kalyan Banerjee:

Senior MP Saugata Roy said that he is extremely hurt by this step of Sudip Bandyopadhyay, because just three-four days ago Sudip had told him that he was not going anywhere and whatever he would do, we would do it together. At the same time, Kalyan Banerjee downplayed this rebellion and said that many people have already left the party, it does not matter. When these people contest elections again, the people of Bengal will teach them a lesson well. However, this disunity within TMC after the defeat in the 2026 assembly elections has brought the politics of West Bengal to a new turn.
