A very wonderful and big news is coming for those interested in the politics related to rural areas of Bihar and the three-tier Panchayati Raj system. Amidst the preparations for the upcoming Panchayat elections in Bihar, the State Election Commission is going to make a major technical change. This time, to elect the village government, voters will neither have to wait for hours in long lines nor have to endure days of suspense for the results. This time the Election Commission has made a complete plan to use ‘Multi-Post EVM’ technology, due to which the entire process from voting to counting will come in superfast mode.
What is this multi post EVM and how will it change the style of voting?
In a normal EVM, usually used in Lok Sabha or Assembly elections, the voter casts his vote for only one post (MP or MLA). But in Bihar Panchayat elections, voting is held simultaneously for many posts like Mukhiya, Ward member, Panchayat Samiti member and Zilla Parishad member. In the old system, a lot of time was wasted due to ballot paper or different machines. To eliminate this problem, ‘Multi Post EVM’ is being introduced. In this modern technology, multiple ballot units will be connected to a single control unit. That is, as soon as the voter enters the booth, he will be able to stand at one place and register his vote for all the different posts of the Panchayat within a few seconds.
Days of waiting are over: The picture of victory and defeat will be clear within a few hours.
Election management and technical experts believe: “The biggest and revolutionary benefit of Multi Post EVM will be seen on the day of counting. In the elections conducted using ballot paper, it used to take many days to sort, bundle and count the ballot papers, due to which there was fear of irregularities and tension. But with the advent of this digital machine, as soon as the counting button is pressed, within a few minutes the complete report of how many votes each candidate got will appear on the computer screen. This will also completely curb electoral violence. It will take.”
Along with this, the State Government and Panchayati Raj Department are also considering using state-of-the-art Face Recognition System (Chehra Pehchane Wali Techneek) at the polling stations to prevent 100% fake voting this time.
Huge enthusiasm among voters of Tier-2, Tier-3 cities and rural Bihar
There is already a lot of discussion about this new system in the rural areas (Geographical Impact) of various districts of Bihar like Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Purnia and Darbhanga. The future Mukhiya and Zilla Parishad candidates who are preparing to contest elections at the local level say that due to digital voting, the elections will be completely transparent and fair. Personnel at Tier-3 and block level polling stations will soon be trained to operate this special multi-post machine in a phased manner. This decision has made it clear that the rural democracy of Bihar has now completely entered the hi-tech and digital era.
