There was a huge stir in the administrative and political circles of Bihar when a very serious and sensational case came to light targeting the management of Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad Milk Producer Cooperative Union Limited, i.e. the popular Barauni Dairy. A complaint letter against the dairy’s Managing Director (MD) Ravindra Kumar was sent directly to the state Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department, claiming that the letter was from none other than senior Union Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh. As soon as this letter came out, there was a stir because in it all kinds of financial and administrative allegations were leveled against the management. But when the matter was investigated at the administrative level, the truth that came out shocked everyone. This letter turned out to be completely fake and forged, which was prepared by some cunning mind with the nefarious intention of tarnishing the image of Barauni Dairy and disrupting the system there. After the revelation of this high-profile conspiracy, the discussion has now intensified in the administrative department as to who are the real faces behind this fraud and what are its implications.
Ravindra Kumar, who was at the center of this entire incident, is currently serving as the Managing Director (MD) of Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad Milk Producer Cooperative Union Limited i.e. Barauni Dairy. The journey of his appointment and assuming charge has also been very important. Earlier, Ravindra Prasad was posted on this post, but in January 2026 this year, he was removed from his post after allegations of financial irregularities and some serious scams came to light. After his resignation, Ravindra Kumar was given the responsibility of the post of MD of Barauni Dairy and he has been working on this post with full dedication for the last 9 months. Ever since he took charge, efforts are being made to improve and bring transparency in the functioning of the dairy. He is continuously taking strict steps to run the institute smoothly and protect the interests of milk producing farmers, which is why some anti-social and selfish elements started feeling uncomfortable with his increasing activism and transparency, by whom such dirty and petty conspiracies were woven.
To make their move solid and effective, the conspirators had the courage to misuse the name of the country’s senior Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh and his official letter pad. In this fake letter, an attempt was made to copy the signature in the name of the Union Minister exactly and it was addressed to the Minister and Secretary of the concerned department of the Government of Bihar. The contents of the letter contained various fabricated and misleading allegations against the present management of Barauni Dairy and MD Ravindra Kumar so that the department should immediately take action and take some punitive action against the dairy management. The style of the letter was such that one look at it could make anyone think it was genuine, but when official channels were used to check its authenticity, the whole story came out in the open. There is strong condemnation in political and administrative circles as to how someone did not shy away from misusing the position and prestige of a Union Minister for his personal rivalry or selfishness.
When this entire matter came to the notice of Union Minister Lalan Singh, he expressed strong displeasure over it and immediately clarified the situation. Lalan Singh not only rejected this letter outright, but also bluntly said that he has never issued any such letter or complaint note and his signatures shown in it are completely fake. While giving clarification on his part, the Union Minister himself informed the Secretary of Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department about this and directed that those committing such frauds should not be spared. He said that this is a dangerous conspiracy to mislead the administrative system by misusing the names of senior officials and ministers through fake letters and fake letter pads. After this clear instruction from Lalan Singh, the Secretary of the department, Shri Kapil Ashok, realizing the seriousness of the matter, issued an order to register an FIR against unknown accused with immediate effect and take strict legal action.
After the confirmation from the Union Minister level that the letter is fake, Barauni Dairy management has also heaved a sigh of relief and has taken a legally aggressive stand against this entire incident. MD Ravindra Kumar came in front of the media and administration and clearly said that all the allegations made in the letter are completely baseless, fabricated and false. He stressed that every work and financial activity of Barauni Dairy is being conducted with complete transparency, within the ambit of rules and keeping in mind the larger interests of the organization. The MD said that this conspiracy was not only hatched to tarnish his personal image, but the intention behind it was to disrupt the functioning of a reputed cooperative institution like Barauni Dairy. At present, the police and cyber cell teams are engaged in a thorough investigation to find out which person or gang was the one who prepared the fake letter pad of the Union Minister, forged the signature and delivered it to the government department in a planned manner. After this high-level investigation, it is expected that the faces who are hiding behind the scenes behind this dirty game will soon be unmasked.
