There is a very important and big news for the railway passengers of Awadh, Purvanchal and Balrampur region of Uttar Pradesh. To speed up the ongoing third rail line expansion work on the Gonda-Burhwal railway section, the Railway Administration has declared a huge traffic block. In fact, in view of the preparations for the inspection by the Commissioner of Safety (CRS) to be held on July 10, 2026, Railways has decided to take a special block for several days.
Due to this big mega block, the operation of a total of 69 trains passing through this route will be directly affected. According to the official notification issued by the Railways, 15 trains have been completely cancelled. Apart from this, the routes of many important trains have been changed (diverted), while it has been decided to short terminate many trains before their scheduled destination. Thousands of passengers may face problems due to this decision.
These 15 trains will be completely canceled (Cancellation List)
According to the list released by the Railway Administration, the major canceled trains affected are as follows:

15081 Gorakhpur-Gomti Nagar Express: It will be completely canceled from 6th July to 10th July.

15082 Gomti Nagar-Gorakhpur Express: Will be canceled from 7th July to 11th July.

15031/15032 Gorakhpur-Lucknow Junction Express: Will not run on the track on 8th and 9th July.

15070 Aishbagh-Gorakhpur Express: Will remain canceled from 7th July to 10th July.
-
15069 Gorakhpur-Aishbagh Express: Has been canceled from July 8 to July 11.
These major trains will be run through alternative routes (Diverted Routes)
For the convenience of passengers during the block, Railways has made changes in the routes of many long distance express trains. These trains will not stop at their scheduled stations:

15707 Katihar-Amritsar Express: Will not go to Aishbagh, Badshahnagar, Unnao and Barabanki stations from July 4 to July 9.

02569 Darbhanga-New Delhi Special: It will not reach Aishbagh station from 6th July to 10th July.

15109 Chhapra-Mathura Junction Express: It will not stop at Aishbagh and Badshahnagar stations on 6th, 8th and 10th July.

02563 Barauni-New Delhi Special: It will not stop at Aishbagh station from 6th July to 10th July.

02570 New Delhi-Darbhanga Special: Aishbagh station will not go from 8th to 10th July.

15204 Lucknow Junction-Barauni Express: Will not go to Burhwal, Jarwal Road and Colonelganj stations on 9th July.
Many trains will be short terminated and short originated
In view of safety concerns, some trains will be short terminated/short originated at intermediate stations, mainly using Lucknow Junction:

22199 Gwalior-Balrampur Express: Instead of going to Balrampur on July 1, it will end its journey at Lucknow Junction itself.

22200 Balrampur-Gwalior Express: On July 2, it will be left for Gwalior from Lucknow Junction instead of Balrampur.

15009/15010 Gorakhpur-Izzatnagar Express: From July 7 to July 9, it will be limited to Lucknow Junction only and will operate from here.

12598 Mumbai-Gorakhpur Express: It will be terminated at a designated station before reaching Gorakhpur on 8th July.
Advice for travelers: The Railway Administration has requested the passengers to check the live location and status of their train through Railway Helpline No. 139 or National Train Inquiry System (NTES) before leaving home during this period, so that any inconvenience at the station can be avoided.
