Limiting access to airport lounges
The changes in ICICI Bank Credit Card rules from November 15 are going to impact reward points, transaction fees and benefits across various card categories. In the new rules that are going to be implemented in credit cards, ICICI Bank credit card holders will now have to spend Rs 75,000 from their card in a quarter for complimentary airport lounge access. Whereas earlier, complimentary airport lounge access was available on purchases worth Rs 35,000 in a quarter.
fuel surcharge waiver rules
ICICI Bank, the second largest private sector bank, has also decided to change the fuel surcharge waiver rules for credit card users. The bank will now offer fuel surcharge free on transactions up to Rs 50,000 every month for its credit card portfolio. However, for the special Emerald MasterCard Metal Credit Card, this limit will be Rs 1 lakh per month.
Utility and Insurance Payment Rules
Reward points will continue to be available on monthly spends up to Rs 80,000 on premium credit cards (Rubix, Saffiro, Emerald) under utility transactions and insurance payments up to this limit. Apart from this, for other cards this limit will be up to Rs 40,000 for monthly expenses or insurance payments, on which reward points will also be available.
Apart from this, premium credit card holders will be able to earn reward points on monthly grocery spends up to Rs 40,000. Whereas for all other cards this limit is being increased to Rs 20,000.
This change will be accompanied by charges on supplementary cards
As part of the new changes, ICICI Bank has imposed an annual fee of Rs 199 on supplementary card holders. Which will be added to the statement of the card anniversary month. Apart from this, if payment is made using third party payment platforms like CRED, Paytm or MobiKwik for other utility transactions including education, a charge of 1 percent will be levied on the transaction amount. Apart from this, the spa service provided through Dreamfolks card is also being discontinued by the bank.
