Almost all the urban areas of the state 18 lakh women The first installment of ₹ 10,000 coming into the bank accounts is currently stuck due to technical glitches and the verification process. While crores of rural women (Jeevika Didis) have already received this amount, non-Jeevika women in urban areas will have to wait a little longer. The administration claims that ‘physical verification’ is mandatory to ensure transparency, due to which the process is taking time.

1. Why is the payment of 18 lakh women stuck?

Under this scheme, a total assistance of up to ₹ 2 lakh is to be given to one woman from every family of Bihar for self-employment, starting with the first installment of ₹ 10,000.

Verification Challenge: The number of applications received from urban areas is more than expected. With the help of the Urban Development and Housing Department, physical verification of the addresses, Aadhaar and bank details of these women is being done so that fraud can be stopped.

Bank Mapping Problem: The bank accounts of many women are not linked to Aadhaar (Aadhaar Seeded), due to which there is failure in sending money through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

2. When will the money come now? (latest deadline)

According to government sources and recent media reports (March 2026), verification work is going on a war footing.

tentative date: It is expected that 15 April 2026 The verification process will be completed and an amount of ₹10,000 will be transferred to the accounts of eligible women immediately thereafter.

Phased Payment: This payment will not be made all at once but in a phased manner at the ward and block level.

3. Next level of ₹2 lakh after ₹10,000

The real benefits of the scheme start after successful utilization of the first installment.

Measuring Success: Women who have started small employment (like sewing, incense stick making, or small shop) using the first installment will have their work ‘progress assessed’ after 6 months.

Additional help of ₹2 lakh: If satisfactory progress is found, additional financial assistance up to ₹ 2 lakh will be given to these women in installments as per requirement so that they can take their business to a larger level.

4. What should the beneficiary women do?

Check KYC: Make sure that your bank account is active and linked to Aadhaar card.

Status on Jeevika Portal: You can check the status of your application by visiting mmry.brlps.in.

Keep documents ready: If the verification team comes to your home, have your identity card and brief business information ready.
