News India Live, Digital Desk: In politics, what is seen is often not what is seen, and what is not seen has many deep meanings. Something similar was seen on Thursday in the important press conference of Bihar NDA, which was considered to be the biggest opportunity to show the unity and strength of the alliance for the 2025 assembly elections.
The occasion was to release the joint ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto) of NDA. All the big leaders of Bihar NDA were present on the stage – Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Upendra Kushwaha and Samrat Chaudhary. The atmosphere was such that today NDA would unite and attack the opposition strongly.
But something happened, which has started a new and big debate in the political corridors of Patna.
Just one speech… and then silence
The press conference started and BJP national president J.P. Nadda took the stage. He presented the main points of the resolution letter before the media and enumerated the achievements of the NDA government. Everything seemed normal until his speech was over.
But the real ‘game’ happened after this. J.P. Immediately after Nadda’s speech, there was a strange silence on the stage. The journalists present there were hopeful that now Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will speak, then Chirag Paswan and other big leaders of the alliance will also present their views.
But, surprising everyone, J.P. after nadda Neither Nitish Kumar held the mic, nor Chirag, nor Manjhi nor Kushwaha. All the big leaders present on the stage silently got up from their chairs one by one and walked out of the press conference hall, leaving the journalists and other people present there stunned.
Why didn’t any other leader speak?
After this ‘great silence’ many kinds of speculations are now being made:
- Is there any internal resentment? The first question that arises is whether there was any disagreement among the colleagues regarding some points of the resolution paper, due to which the other leaders did not consider it appropriate to speak?
- Was this a deliberate strategy? Some people believe that this could also be a strategy in which it has been decided that only the biggest national leader of the alliance (J.P. Nadda) will speak so that no contradictory statement comes out.
- Lack of time or something? An argument is also being given that perhaps this may have happened due to lack of time, because the leaders had to go out for further rallies also. However, on such a big occasion this argument is not being given much importance.
Whatever may be the reason, but this one incident has given a big opportunity to the opposition, especially RJD, to attack the NDA. RJD says that this is evidence of the ‘big tussle’ going on within the NDA, where no leader is comfortable with each other.
Now it will be interesting to see what clarification the NDA leaders give on this strange silence. At present, his silence is making more noise than the promises in his manifesto.
