News India Live, Digital Desk: The cycle of videos and rhetoric never stops in Bihar politics, but this time the matter is a bit serious and sensitive. A video of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is becoming increasingly viral on social media, which has given the opposition another opportunity to attack. The matter is of SK Memorial Hall in Patna, where a controversy has arisen over removing or interrupting a female doctor’s ‘hijab’ (face cover) on the stage during a program.

As soon as this video surfaced, Lalu Yadav’s elder son and famous for his outspoken statements Tej Pratap Yadav The anger has reached the seventh heaven. He has fired sharp words at the Chief Minister.

What did Tej Pratap say? (real reason for anger)

Tej Pratap Yadav has linked this incident to women’s respect and religious freedom. He says that asking a woman, that too a doctor, to remove her niqab or hijab on a public platform does not suit a Chief Minister.

In his familiar style, Tej Pratap also raised questions on the mental condition of Nitish Kumar. While talking to the media he said, “It seems that the Chief Minister has lost his mental balance. He needs treatment now.” Tej Pratap alleges that Nitish Kumar has now forgotten his ideology and is working on the agenda of RSS, that is why he is facing problems with someone’s dressing.

What happened on stage?

Actually, appointment letters were being distributed to AYUSH doctors in Patna. When a female doctor reached the stage to collect her letter, she was wearing a mask or niqab on her face. It is seen in the video that Nitish Kumar is signaling him to remove the cover from his face. However, JDU supporters are saying that CM Saheb just wanted to see who the doctors are, there was no wrong intention in this.

RJD got the issue

But RJD is in no mood to let it go so easily. Tej Pratap says that this is an insult to someone’s privacy and religion. He said, “How can you force a woman to show her face in front of everyone? This is not the culture of Bihar.”

At present, this issue has raised the political temperature in Bihar. On one hand JDU is in defensive mode, while on the other hand Tej Pratap and the opposition are calling it an example of ‘misgovernance’. Now it has to be seen what clarification Nitish Kumar himself gives on this.
