Mumbai : Sure Real Pictures, which delivers powerful and innovative stories for Gen Z and Millennials, in collaboration with Approach Entertainment, an award-winning film production, celebrity management and entertainment marketing company, has announced that rising young star Satwik Bhatia has been signed as the lead character “James” in their highly anticipated feature film Liberation (2026).
Directed by Ankit Kadam, produced by Sure Real Pictures and Kanishk Kadam and co-produced by Approach Entertainment and Sonu Tyagi, Satwik brings to life with his sensitive and impressive performance the story of a youth going through a journey of rebellion, confusion and self-discovery. He has impressively showcased his talent in projects like India Lockdown (2022), Made in Heaven Season 2 (2023) and Kota Factory Season 3 (2024).
Liberation tells the story of James—a young man from a wealthy family who drops out of school amid family pressures, dissatisfaction, and a search for purpose in life. He becomes obsessed with the obsessive idea of creating an immortal identity for himself by killing a famous singer. His journey collides with a strong street worker like Dorothy and a cunning, money-seeking man like Boss. Based on themes of revenge, liberation, identity and social rebellion, the film deeply touches upon the restlessness and questions hidden within today’s young generation. Targeting a global audience, Liberation will be released primarily in English, but will also be available in Hindi and other Indian languages.
Born and brought up in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, Satvik Bhatia is one of the fast-rising young actors of Indian cinema. Satwik, who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and has a charming personality, made his film debut as Dev in India Lockdown, followed by playing the lead role of Kartik in Kuch Sapne Apne (2024). On television he gained widespread acclaim playing Sajid in Made in Heaven Season 2 and Minku in Kota Factory Season 3.
The selection of Satwik reinforces Sure Real Pictures’ vision of bringing forth fresh, natural and emotionally expressive talent. His natural blend with James’s deep and complex character is sure to leave a long-lasting impact on audiences.
