Stock Market Closing Fall: With huge volatility in the stock market, the clouds of recession are getting darker. In global stock markets today, Sensex closed at 78675.18 with a fall of 820.97 points after intraday fluctuation of 1273.14 points. Nifty closed at 23883.45 with a difference of 257.85 points. The country’s volatility index increased by 2.24 percent to 14.59. Which indicates that instability persists.
Investors lost Rs 6 lakh crore
After general selling in the stock market, investors today suffered another loss of Rs 5.94 lakh crore. The market cap of BSE stood at Rs 436.60 lakh crore. Which was Rs 442.54 lakh crore yesterday. Today 363 shares on BSE witnessed lower circuit of 5 to 20 percent. 71 shares reached year’s low.

The index fell by more than 2 percent due to heavy profit booking in Metal, PSU, Oil & Gas and Power stocks. Out of 30 Sensex shares, only 5 shares saw an improvement of up to 0.28 percent. Another 25 stocks fell between 0.19 per cent and 3.16 per cent. Asian Paint fell further 2.65 percent today. Market breadth shows a cautious trend with negative.
