Sensex broke the level of 74000 and closed at 73738, up 90 points

Mumbai: Gains in the corporate results season were limited yesterday as funds booked profits in healthcare and metals stocks following Reliance Industries' weak quarterly results. Sensex jumped 411 points to 74059 intra-day: Nifty reached 22447

Sensex initially rose by 411.27 points to reach 74059.89, above the 74000 level. Selling in Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra etc resulted in the rally fading to low of 73688.31 and finally closed 89.83 points higher at 73738.45.
