News India Live, Digital Desk: As the RSS is approaching its centenary (100 years), the organization is bringing major changes in its working style. Mohan Bhagwat clarified that to keep pace with the changing nature of the society, the Sangh will have to strengthen its presence on digital platforms.
1. Social media and ‘creative’ uses
Round of memes and reels: Bhagwat admitted that in today’s time, memes and reels have become the main medium of spreading information. “Social media is widely used, so the association needs to increase activism on these platforms for the good cause,” he said.
Increase in Acceptability: He told that the publicity department of the Sangh is already sharing the material, but now there is a need to make it more people-centric and effective so that it gets wider acceptance.
2. Expansion and decentralization of the organization
In view of the increasing work of RSS, Bhagwat also indicated changes in the organizational structure:
Small units: Due to increasing expectations of the public and huge demand for volunteers, now focus will be on small units so that efficiency in work is maintained.
State level coordination: A ‘state-level’ special coordination mechanism is now being created for better communication with the government and administration so that local level obstacles can be removed rapidly.
3. 100 years of ‘Tarun Bharat’: The religion of journalism
Appreciating the contribution of Marathi paper ‘Tarun Bharat’, Bhagwat said:
Side of Truth: The job of journalism is not just to give news but to give direction to the society.
Qualities of Volunteer: He said that when a dedicated volunteer is ready, his work is not limited to the branch only, but he brings the desired change in the society.
4. Centenary Year Goals
As per the decisions of the ‘All India House of Representatives’ (ABPS) held in Samalkha, Haryana in March 2026:
Extension of branches: The aim of the Sangh is to reach out to every division and locality of the country.
Punch Changes: A comprehensive campaign will be run at the digital and grassroots level on these 5 topics – social harmony, Kutumb Prabodhaan (family values), environmental protection, indigenous and civic duties.
