Russia’s fierce drone-mesile attack, unprecedented catastrophe on Ukraine

Kiev: Russia’s fierce missile and drone attacks continued on the second consecutive night on Ukraine’s capital, Kiev. Ukrainian officials said on Sunday morning that at least 12 people were killed and several others were injured in the night attack on the capital Kiev.

The air strike on Ukraine in the last 48 hours is the largest drone and missile attack in the last three years. According to a Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson, Russia fired 298 drones and 69 missiles.

The spokesperson claimed that Ukraine managed to kill 266 drones and 45 missiles. There are reports of damage to several regional centers including Ukraine’s second largest city Kharkiv, Micolive in the south and Ternopil in the west.

Ukrainian Internal Minister Ihor Climenco said that 12 people have been killed and 60 were injured. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelanski has said that he has appealed to impose further ban on Russia for a ceasefire.

He said that Russia has carried out attacks in more than 30 cities and villages. Ukraine is targeting citizens. On the other hand, Russia has claimed that it has hit 110 Ukrainian drones.

This attack took place at a time when the two countries have been exchange of the biggest prisoner since the February 2022 attack. In a meeting held in Istanbul, the two countries agreed to exchange 1,000 prisoners. Both countries released 303 prisoners on Sunday, 307 on Saturday and 390 on Friday.
