News India Live, Digital Desk: Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) has prepared a plan for 105 important projects under Vision Document-2051 to develop Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh in a better and planned manner. The process of sending proposals to the Municipal Corporation, NHAI and other concerned departments has started for approval of these schemes. After getting approval from here, these schemes will be sent to the government for final approval.

New outer ring road will be built

In the vision document, the construction of a 124 km long new outer ring road around the city is proposed. This road will currently be about 31 km long from the 93 km long ring road under construction. This outer ring road will start from Chaubepur and go to Achalganj (Unnao) via Bhisar, Bidhanu. It is also proposed to build two four-lane bridges on the Ganges river on this road. Apart from this, plans to build two other bridges on the Ganges river are also included.

Widening and 6 lane development of major roads

Many major roads will be widened and will be six-lane to smooth the city’s traffic system. These include Panki Tirahe to Kalyanpur Marg, Chaubepur-Bithur-Munighat Road, Bhaunti-Rirajipur Road and Ramadevi-Sarasaul Marg.

Seven multilevel parking will be built in the city

A blueprint for construction of seven multilevel parking facilities has also been prepared to solve the increasing parking problem in the city. These parking will be developed at major places like Mall Road, Kalpi Road, Gumti No-5, Harsi Road and Ghantaghar. These multilevel parking facilities will be equipped with mechanized parking systems.

1.32 lakh crore investment scheme

KDA has focused on areas such as housing, transport, connectivity and employment keeping in mind the needs of the city’s potential 78 lakh population needs under Vision-2051. A total of 105 projects have been targeted to complete 36 projects short term (in five years), 38 medium terms (in 6–10 years) and 31 long term (by 2051). A total of Rs 1,32,000 crore will be invested on all these projects.
