Recruitment notification for 80 posts released, know age limit and qualification before applying


Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has presented a golden opportunity for the youth looking for government jobs. The Commission has released the official notification for the recruitment of 80 vacant posts of Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner (APFC) under the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). This recruitment is a great opportunity for all those candidates who want to make a career in administrative services. The application process will start from 22 August 2026 and will continue till 11 September 2026.

Important Dates and Application Process

Candidates are advised not to wait for the last date, as there may be technical issues due to increased load on the server. The entire application process will be in online mode. You have to apply through ‘One-Time Registration’ (OTR) by visiting the official website of UPSC upsconline.nic.in. The application fee is only Rs 25, while for Women, SC, ST and PwBD category candidates, the application is completely free.

Post and age limit rules

The age limit for this recruitment will be determined on the basis of the last date of application (11 September 2026). The maximum age limit for general and EWS category candidates has been fixed at 35 years. Age relaxation is given for reserved categories as per government rules:

  • OBC Candidates: up to 38 years

  • SC/ST Candidates: up to 40 years

  • PwBD Candidates: Additional discount up to 10 years

Educational Qualification and Required Experience

The minimum educational qualification for APFC post is Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Although graduation in any discipline is mandatory, candidates having diploma in Company Law, Labor Laws or Public Administration may get special preference or advantage in the selection process. This is a Group ‘A’ Gazetted post, hence the candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Test and Interview.

Preparation Strategy and Topics

A systematic study plan is necessary to get success in the examination. The syllabus mainly includes subjects like Indian Freedom Struggle, Indian Politics and Economy, General Accounting Principles, Labor Law, Social Security in India, Current Affairs and General Science. Candidates should choose standard books and practice previous years question papers for better preparation. This exam is not only a test of academic knowledge, but it also tests your logical ability and your understanding of social security.
