New Delhi: The monsoon session of Parliament is currently witness to discussion on serious national interest issues. Amidst the frequent uproar, slogans and boycott, this time the Parliament focuses on the ‘Pahalgam attack’ and in response to the ‘Operation Sindoor’ by the Indian Army. Yesterday, where Defense Minister Rajnath Singh took the front on behalf of the ruling party, today this responsibility will be on the shoulders of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Rajnath Singh gave detailed information
On the second day of the session on Monday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh started discussing ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the Lok Sabha. He paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the nation and referred to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025, killing 25 innocent citizens and a Nepali citizen. He described this attack as “the most disgusting example of inhumanity”, which was the limit of tolerance of India.

The Defense Minister further stated that soon after this attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting and directed the army chiefs to take strategic action. As a result, on May 6 and 7, 2025, Indian forces carried out a historical military action called ‘Operation Sindoor’. It was not just a military action, but a demonstration of India’s sovereignty, identity, responsibility towards citizens and a decisive policy against terrorism.

Singh clarified that a careful plan was made for this operation, emphasizing the maximum damage to the terrorists and keeping the common citizens of Pakistan safe. India’s armies accurately targeted 9 terrorist infrastructure bases, which was estimated to be more than 100 terrorists, their instructors and bosses. The Defense Minister also stated that India had stopped action after achieving political and military goals and not under any pressure. He said that on May 10, the DGMO of Pakistan had contacted the DGMO of India and appealed to stop the action, and after a formal dialogue on May 12, the two sides decided to put a stop to military action. Operation vermilion is not finished, rather it has been given ‘break’, and it can resume at any daring in future.

Today Amit Shah will address, opposition will question
After the Defense Minister’s address, Home Minister Amit Shah will answer the opposition’s questions in the House at 12 noon today. The Congress has been given about 2 hours to discuss, and the Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge will start the debate. According to sources, Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar will also join the discussion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give his address ending the entire session.

Leaders of the opposition, such as Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, can question the government in this debate on national security, intelligence failures and reasons for stopping operation.
