The matter of manipulation and theft of the amount of offerings in the grand Ram temple of Ayodhya has now reached a very serious point. According to concrete information received from Lucknow, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing this entire matter can submit its preliminary investigation report to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today. 40 employees removed, FIR recommended against 5

The SIT has taken swift action in the last six days to get to the bottom of this entire matter. Following primary deficiencies found during the investigation, about 40 enumerators counting the donations have been removed with immediate effect and new staff have been deployed in their place. Not only this, in its preliminary report the SIT has made a strong recommendation to lodge a named FIR against the five main people accused of theft and embezzlement. The investigation team has recorded statements of a large number of suspects within six days and has also collected strong digital evidence.

Major shortcomings in banking system and monitoring system exposed

The investigation of this high-profile case has revealed that there were serious deficiencies in the counting of donations coming to the temple, the process of depositing it in the bank and the entire monitoring system (CCTV and security audit), taking advantage of which this manipulation was carried out. The SIT has also closely investigated the role of some officials associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, office employees and people associated with the bank. Considering the sensitivity of the case, some senior SIT officials have been instructed to camp in Ayodhya for the time being. Also, the concerned officers and employees of the Trust have been asked not to leave Ayodhya without permission.

Stirring from Lucknow to Delhi, hearing possible in High Court today

Since the Ram Mandir Trust was formed after the decision of the Central Government, the echo of this matter is being heard from Lucknow to the political and administrative corridors of Delhi. There is a continuous discussion going on at the high level regarding what and how strict action should be taken against the culprits. A PIL filed in the Allahabad High Court in this matter is also likely to be heard today, in which a demand has been made to investigate this entire scam by the CBI or any other independent central agency. Experts believe that after CM Yogi receives the report, huge legal and departmental punishment is sure to fall on the culprits. The detailed investigation of the SIT will continue further, for which the team may be given some more time.
