Newsindia Live, Digital Desk: Political Strategy: Before the Lok Sabha elections, after the defeat in some recent assembly elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has given a big statement addressing party workers. He told the workers that the party is ‘not lost’, but ‘he was dishonest’. Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of adopting strategies like “media management” and “pressure” and called upon the workers to continue the struggle for the truth. Despite the defeat in the assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi gave an important message to maintain the morale of Congress workers. He said, “All of you kept working on one side and on the other side there was a complete system to defeat you … We are not defeated, we have been defeated dishonestly.” His purpose behind this statement is to awaken the belief among the workers that the defeat is not due to lack of hard work, but due to external reasons. Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP that he had “hijacked the media completely”. He said that the opposition does not get the expected coverage, while only pro -government things remain in the media. Apart from this, he also talked about making ‘pressure on the system’. According to him, just pressing the button does not make the victory and defeat determined, but the atmosphere is created in advance. He warned the workers that an attempt would be made to create a similar atmosphere in the upcoming elections. Rahul Gandhi also clarified the Congress strategy for the upcoming election battle. He especially talked about focusing on the ‘Backward Caste (OBC) population’. He said that his biggest task is to get ‘caste census’ and on the basis of this, OBC, Dalit, tribals are to get their rights according to their population ratio. The message makes it clear that the Congress will now raise the issue of social justice firmly and retaliate at the BJP. The Congress leader reiterated his point that the Congress fights for ‘truth’ and it is not easy. He accused the BJP and RSS of snatching the rights of Dalits, tribals, minorities and poor. Rahul said that the Congress will protect them. Referring to the number of ‘50% backward people, 15% Dalits, 8% tribals and minorities’ in the population of India, he said that their rights will be ensured. This statement further confirms the party’s agenda of social justice. In the end, Rahul Gandhi gave a message to the party workers not to fear and fight fearlessly. He said, “As long as the Congress party and its leaders follow the path of truth, we cannot be intimidated or stopped with any strength.” He insisted that the victory of the truth may be late, but it will definitely happen. He called upon the workers to unite and continue the struggle, as he believes that the coming time is from the Congress.
