PM Kisan Yojana: Before the ₹ 2000 of the 24th installment comes into your account, complete these 5 important tasks immediately, otherwise the Samman Nidhi amount may get stuck.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan) has become a strong foundation of economic support for crores of farmers across the country. Financial assistance of Rs 6,000 is sent annually by the Central Government in the form of three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each to the bank accounts of eligible farmers at an interval of every four months through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is now busy finalizing the administrative preparations for the transfer of the upcoming 24th installment. However, with the aim of bringing transparency in the scheme and excluding ineligible beneficiaries, the government has made the standards of technical verification more stringent than ever.

If we look at the data of the last few installments, there have been lakhs of farmers whose installments were stopped at the last moment only because there were minor technical deficiencies in their records. The Central Government has made it clear that the honorarium of Rs 2,000 of the 24th installment will not be transferred to the accounts of farmers whose documents, bank accounts and land records are not digitally certified. If you want the money to be credited directly to your account without any interruption, then it is mandatory to complete these 5 very important tasks on time.

It is legally mandatory for every farmer registered under PM Kisan Yojana to get e-KYC done. Without biometric or OTP verification, the central government does not release funds into the account of any beneficiary. If you have not yet completed your e-KYC process or the earlier verification has been canceled for some reason, complete it immediately.

There are mainly three easy means of getting e-KYC done:

  • OTP based e-KYC: If your active mobile number is linked to your Aadhar card, you can visit the official website of PM Kisan (pmkisan.gov.in) from home and select the e-KYC option in the ‘Farmers Corner’ section. Here, after entering the Aadhaar number, the process is completed within a few minutes by filling the OTP received.

  • Biometric e-KYC: Farmers whose mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar can get e-KYC done through biometric fingerprint scanner by visiting their nearest Common Service Center (CSC) or Sahaj Jan Seva Kendra.

  • Face Authentication: Face authentication feature is available on the ‘PM Kisan Mobile App’ of the Agriculture Ministry, where farmers can complete e-KYC of themselves or fellow farmers by simply scanning their face without OTP or fingerprint.

One of the biggest and common reasons for delay in 24th installment is ‘Land Seeding’ (Land Seeding: No). The government has made a strict rule to limit the benefits of the scheme only to those farmers in whose name there are valid documents of cultivable land. If ‘No’ is written in front of Land Seeding in your status on PM Kisan Portal, then your installment will not be released under any circumstances.

To get the Bhulekh marking corrected, farmers will have to contact the concerned Lekhpal, Patwari, Kanungo or Agriculture Nodal Officer of the Tehsil with the certified copy of their land’s Khatauni, Jamabandi or land records, Aadhar card and bank passbook. The concerned revenue personnel will verify your Bhulekh and update the data on the state agriculture portal, after which the land seeding will be converted to ‘Yes’ on the PM Kisan portal.

Often farmers assume that merely depositing the Aadhaar card in their bank account is sufficient, whereas it is not so. PM Kisan Yojana money is sent not on the basis of account number, but through Aadhaar-based payment system (ABPS). For this, it is mandatory for your bank account to be linked to the mapper of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) option should be active on it.

If your account is not mapped to NPCI or the IFSC code has changed due to bank merger, the transaction will fail. To solve this, go to your bank branch and fill the ‘Aadhaar Seeding and DBT Enablement’ form and submit it. If farmers wish, they can also open a new DBT-enabled account in India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), where the Aadhaar seeded account is immediately activated at home through the postman.

Many times, due to spelling mistake in name, error in father’s name or discrepancy in gender, the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) rejects the beneficiary’s record. If there is even a slight difference in the letters of the name written in your revenue record, Aadhar card and PM Kisan’s application form, then the system considers it suspicious and stops the payment.

To resolve this, go to the Farmers Corner of PM Kisan Portal and use the ‘Name Correction as per Aadhaar’ option. If your application is pending at the state level or is showing ‘Rejected by Bank’ in the PFMS Bank Status, then visit the portal and resubmit your details so that it can be approved at the District Agriculture Officer level.

The Central Government is preparing a digital ‘Farmer ID’ (Farmer Registry) of farmers in all the states of the country. Special camps are being organized at the Gram Panchayat level by the Agriculture Department in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana and Maharashtra. In these camps, a unique farmer code is being created by matching the Bhulekh, Aadhaar and Samagra ID/Family Identity Card of the farmers.

Farmers should visit their village Panchayat Bhawan, Farmer Service Center or Block Agriculture Office to ensure whether their name is included in the verification list or not. If any audit objection has been raised against any farmer or wrong entry of being an Income Tax Payee has been registered, then present the evidence of the same and get the records corrected so that no technical hurdles arise on the date of release of the 24th installment.

Farmers can follow a simple digital process to check the updated status of their application:

  1. First of all open the official website pmkisan.gov.in.

  2. Click on the ‘Know Your Status’ option in the ‘Farmers Corner’ on the right side of the homepage.

  3. Enter your PM Kisan Registration Number and captcha code displayed on the screen.

  4. If you do not remember the registration number, you can retrieve it from your mobile or Aadhar number by clicking on the link ‘Know Your Registration Number’.

  5. Click on ‘Get OTP’ and fill the OTP received on mobile and submit.

  6. Your personal details will be displayed on the screen. Here click on the ‘Eligibility Status’ tab and check whether e-KYC Status, Land Seeding and Aadhaar Bank Account Seeding Status—all three have ‘YES’ marked in green or not. If all three fields are ‘YES’, then your 24th installment will reach your bank account without any disruption.

If despite completing all the above procedures, the previous installments have not come in your account or there is any technical hurdle regarding the 24th installment, then the farmers can directly lodge a complaint through official channels. The Central Government has issued toll-free helpline numbers 155261 and 1800115526 for this. Apart from this, farmers can also call on 011-23381092 or [email protected] You can get quick solution by sending an email with your bank passbook and Aadhaar details. Getting all your documents certified in time is the only safe way to maintain the continuity of Samman Nidhi.
