Both relief and disaster are going to come simultaneously for the people facing scorching heat and humidity in many areas of Jharkhand. Meteorological Center (IMD) has released a big and latest update regarding the weather of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the system formed in the Bay of Bengal and local weather changes, the weather is going to change suddenly in large parts of Jharkhand. There is a strong possibility of heavy rain with a strong thunderstorm moving at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour in about 16 districts of the state, due to which the administration and the general public have been asked to remain alert.
Dark clouds are hovering over these 16 districts including Ranchi and Khunti
The districts for which the Meteorological Department has issued a special alert include big areas like the capital Ranchi, Khunti, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Gumla, Lohardaga, Simdega and Seraikela-Kharsawan. In these areas, movement of clouds has started in the sky since morning and cold winds have started blowing at some places. Meteorologists say that within the next few hours, there may be light to moderate thunderstorms along with heavy thunder in many parts of these districts and at some places heavy showers, due to which there will be a huge drop in the temperature.
Yellow alert issued regarding storm with speed of 50KM and lightning
In view of this severe weather situation, IMD has issued ‘Yellow Alert’ in the state. During this period, the wind speed can reach 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, which can damage weak structures, trees and electric poles. The biggest danger has been expressed regarding lightning. The incidence of lightning increases significantly during pre-monsoon and monsoon season in Jharkhand, hence the Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to avoid standing in open fields, under trees or near electric wires during bad weather and take shelter in safe pucca houses.
Meteorological Department’s special advice to farmers and temperature conditions
With this sudden change, while the general public will get great relief from the scorching heat, it will also affect farming activities. Agricultural meteorologists have advised farmers to keep harvested crops in safe places and not to irrigate or spray pesticides in the fields during the storm. The maximum temperature is expected to drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius after this rain, which will provide great relief to the people from the record-breaking sultry heat for the last several days.
