Today, 12th June 2026, reminds us of one of the darkest and painful pages of Indian aviation history. Exactly one year ago today, i.e. on June 12, 2025, just seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad International Airport for London, Air India’s gleaming Boeing-787 Dreamliner aircraft became the victim of a terrible accident. In this heart-wrenching accident, all 260 passengers and crew members on board the plane died prematurely. On the first anniversary of this horrific tragedy, the country’s largest organization of aviation experts and pilots, ‘Federation of Indian Pilots’ (FIP), has raised very sensational questions on the current investigation process. The organization has directly put American aircraft manufacturer Boeing in the dock, demanding an impartial judicial inquiry into the accident. In this special investigative report by Editor Jeet Kumar, know why the real truth of this accident has not been revealed even after a year.
Boeing and General Electric got secret codes: The real secret of destruction is hidden in 15 minutes of satellite data.
Federation of Indian Pilots President Captain CS Randhawa has made very serious and shocking allegations against American aircraft manufacturing company Boeing in this entire matter. According to Captain Randhawa, whenever an aircraft is about to take-off, real-time data codes are transmitted through satellite about its technical condition and the health of the engines. These secret codes go directly to Boeing Company, engine manufacturer ‘General Electric’ and Air India. The most surprising thing is that the technology to decode these codes is available only with the Boeing Company. Aviation experts claim that if these codes just 15 minutes before take-off are made public, the real technical reason for this disastrous accident will immediately be revealed to the world.
Huge objection to sending black box and CVR to America twice, big questions raised on fairness
This sensitive matter is being investigated by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), the main agency of the Government of India, but the pilots’ organization has also raised serious fingers on its functioning. Initially, it was claimed by the Government of India that Indian agencies are fully capable of investigating such major crashes. Despite this, the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and digital flight data recorder (black box) recovered from the wreckage of the plane were sent to the US twice under the pretext of investigation. Expressing strong objection to this step, Captain Randhawa said that it is completely wrong to send key evidence for testing to the laboratory of the same country whose company (Boeing) the plane was involved in the accident. In such a situation, it is natural to raise questions on the impartiality of the investigation and there is every possibility of the truth being suppressed.
Attempt to make late chief pilot Sabharwal a scapegoat? Revealing the ‘evil’ actions of officials
While making the biggest and sharpest attack on the attitude of the investigation committee, Captain Randhawa exposed a very shameful incident. He told that on the instructions of the investigation committee, two very influential officers had secretly visited the house of the chief pilot Captain Sabharwal who lost his life in the accident. Going there, the officials made strange inquiries to the pilot’s family regarding his mental condition. The pilot organization has strongly condemned this act and termed it a ‘mischievous attempt’. The organization alleges that this entire exercise is being done to hide the technical fault and put the entire blame on the deceased pilot and make him a scapegoat, whereas records show that Captain Sabharwal had made supreme efforts to control the aircraft and save the passengers by battling in the cockpit till the last second.
Demand to increase the number of aviation experts and make the final detailed report immediately public
A total of five members are currently involved in the government committee investigating this high-profile accident. The Federation of Indian Pilots says that this number is very small to investigate such a large and complex international accident. The number of independent aviation experts and senior pilots in this committee should be immediately increased. Along with this, a demand has been made from AAIB to present a complete and detailed final report of this accident to the country without any further delay. Captain Randhawa clarified that although it is not easy and takes time to investigate all the technical aspects of such a major plane crash in detail within a year, it is very important to have a transparent investigation report to stop the misunderstandings and rumors being spread due to interim reports so that no other innocent passenger or pilot has to lose his life in future.
