Lucknow: Till now the meaning of Yamuna Expressway was limited only to Noida, Greater Noida and Film City, but now the story is going to change completely. Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is now expanding its scope to set up a new and grand urban center – ‘New Hathras’,
This will not be a small township, but a fully planned city, which will be developed on both sides of the Yamuna Expressway. The move is being considered as YEIDA’s biggest masterstroke after plans to build a ‘Heritage City’ in Mathura and a ‘Logistic Hub’ in Tappal.
How will this ‘New Hathras’ be?
- Huge area: This new city in the initial phase 2 to 4 thousand hectares Will be settled on the land.
- Strategic Location: This entire city will be spread on both sides of the Yamuna Expressway, due to which its connectivity will be unmatched.
- Master plan ready: YEIDA will soon conduct a survey, on the basis of which a detailed master plan will be prepared keeping in mind the geographical and industrial needs of the area.
- Land of 358 villages: 358 villages of Hathras have been notified under YEIDA for this mega project, and the process of land acquisition can be started here soon.
Why was Hathras chosen? MSME powerhouse will be built
There is a big and well thought out strategy behind choosing Hathras. The district is already a hotbed of small, micro and medium industries (MSME). According to a survey, there are already about 10,293 industries Are registered. Now, under Master Plan-2041 (Phase-2), preparations are being made to give a new and global identity to this strength.
New hub will be built for dairy, textile and brass
There is a plan to make ‘New Hathras’ a center for three industries in particular:
- dairy industry
- textile industry
- Brass Industry
The location of Hathras is also in its favor. The district is connected to three major road networks namely NH-93, SH-33 and Yamuna Expressway. Besides, the rail junction here will also give further impetus to the development of this new city.
In the coming years, Hathras is not just a district but is on its way to emerge as a new and shining industrial identity of Uttar Pradesh like Noida and Greater Noida.
