News India Live, Digital Desk: Social Security Scheme: Big and important news is coming for e-Shram card holders! If you are a laborer in an unorganized sector and have made your e-shram card, then this information is very important for you. The government is continuously trying to improve the lives of unorganized workers and in this context, many big benefits are being given under the e-Shram Card.

Let us tell you that the main objective of the e-Shram Card Scheme is to connect crores of unorganized laborers of the country with a national database, so that they can get direct benefits of various government schemes. This card has many big benefits, such as:

  1. social Security: E-Shram card holders are given free accident insurance of Rs 2 lakh. If a worker dies in an accident, his family gets an assistance of Rs 2 lakh and if the worker becomes completely disabled, his family gets an assistance of Rs 1 lakh.
  2. Benefits of government schemes: Through this card, one can easily avail the benefits of other schemes run by the government (like Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, etc.).
  3. Employment Opportunities: This database also helps workers to find employment opportunities according to their skills.
  4. disaster relief: E-Shram Card is also helpful in providing direct assistance or other benefits from the government during any natural disaster or economic crisis. Many states have also previously provided direct cash assistance (such as installments of Rs 500 to Rs 1,000) to cardholders in crises like Covid, although there is no widespread government announcement of a monthly payment of Rs 5,000 and it is not part of the regular benefits under the scheme. This is a huge amount which can be spent only during a special scheme or during a crisis.
