Keshav Prasad Maurya said that while implementing the mantra of respected Prime Minister Shri Modi of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, the ‘double engine’ government of Uttar Pradesh is committed to bring the light of development to every person standing at the last rung of the society. He said that the state government has decided to widen the scope of ‘Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Rural’ and include all those Scheduled Tribes (ST) of the state in the eligibility list of the scheme, which till now were deprived of it.

The Deputy Chief Minister made a strong attack on the previous government and said that the previous governments never tried to integrate these tribes with the mainstream. He used these backward and deprived castes only as a ‘vote bank’ and always exploited them while in power.

Today our government is increasing the dignity of Bhotiya, Jaunsari, Raji, Gond and its synonyms Dhuria, Ojha, Nayak, Pathari, Rajgond, Kharwar, Khairwar, Parhiya, Pankha, Panika, Agariya, Patari, Bhuiyan, Bhuniya by giving them their rights and shelter.

Shri Maurya clarified that this scheme is based on ‘saturation mode’. Whatever caste is included in it, efforts are made to cover it 100% within the first two years. Giving the example of Musahar and Vantangiya castes, he said that houses have been provided to almost all their eligible beneficiaries. This scheme is also proving to be a boon for the following sections: Families rendered homeless due to natural disaster (flood, fire, earthquake). Families affected by Kala-azar and Japanese encephalitis (JE/AES). A person affected by leprosy. Destitute women (18 to 50 years) and persons with disabilities.
