New twist in TCS conversion case: 5 months pregnant Nida Khan gets bail, Nashik court gives big decision by mentioning the birth of Lord Krishna.

A very big and new legal twist has come to light in the famous conversion and workplace harassment case of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). An Additional Sessions Court of Nashik, Maharashtra has granted conditional bail to Nida Khan, the main accused in this case and former employee of the company, on July 6. Considering the sensitivity of the case, the honorable judge made a very historical and humane comment during the hearing. The court said that no unborn child in the world should have to face the pain of being born behind bars and the stigma of society. The judge compared this situation to the historical incident of Lord Krishna being born in jail in Dwapara Yuga.

According to a special report by news channel News18, during the hearing of this high-profile case, the atmosphere of the court room became very emotional and serious, after which the judge used his special judicial discretion.

Judge Kedar Joshi mentioned Lord Krishna, gave relief to the unborn child

While giving the final verdict on the bail application, Additional Sessions Judge of Nashik Court, Kedar Joshi, completely emphasized on humanitarian grounds and the health of the mother and child. The fact came before the court that the accused Nida Khan is currently five months pregnant.

The court acknowledged that the mental and physical pain of giving birth to a child within the prison walls and the subsequent social stigma for the rest of the life is unbearable for any woman and the newborn. The judge clearly stated in his order, “No innocent child in our society should have to suffer the mental trauma or social stigma that comes with being born in jail, as was once the case with Lord Krishna in Kansa’s jail.” The court clarified that this relief is being given completely keeping in mind the mental and physical well-being of the unborn child.

What is the whole TCS conversion controversy?

This entire legal and social controversy started in the month of May. Nida Khan, who worked in a BPO unit of Nashik-based Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was arrested by the police on May 7, 2026, following a serious complaint by a female colleague.

According to the allegations made in the court by the police and the prosecution, Nida Khan and some of her other associates mentally tortured one of their Hindu female colleagues. He is accused of saying very derogatory and objectionable things about Hindu Gods and Goddesses at the workplace, forcing the victim woman to wear burqa and putting immense pressure on her to convert to Islam. Not only this, an attempt was also made to give him training in Islamic customs and prayers as part of a conspiracy to force conversion. After this serious controversy went viral on social media, Tata Group company TCS immediately dismissed Nida Khan from the job citing its ‘zero-tolerance policy’ in cases of workplace harassment.

Court approved bail on these strict and strict conditions

Nashik Sessions Court has set some very strict legal terms and conditions for Nida Khan’s release from jail. Initially the court had directed her release on a personal bond of ₹75,000, which was later changed to a provisional cash security of ₹50,000 in view of her pregnancy status. With this relief the accused will have to comply with the following conditions:

  • There will be a complete ban on contacting the main complainant woman or any witness related to this case, directly or indirectly.

  • There will be a complete ban on the victim woman going to the designated area around her current workplace (office) or her home.

  • Accused Nida Khan cannot leave the country without the written and clear approval of the court and she will have to cooperate fully in the investigation.
