Traveling by rail route between Rajasthan and Gujarat is now going to be even more convenient and faster. The Railways has announced the 116.65 km long new railway line project between Aburod-Ambaji-Taranga Hill, whose construction work has started rapidly. This project will not only play an important role in connecting both states, but will also give a new dimension to religious tourism, economic development and regional connectivity.
The special thing about this rail route is that it will pass through Shaktipeeth Ambaji in Gujarat and connect many towns and villages in Sirohi district of Rajasthan to the railway network. The total cost of the project is estimated at around ₹ 28 billion and it can prove to be a milestone in the development of the entire northwest India.
Advanced railway project rich in tunnels and bridges
In this railway project, 13 tunnels will be constructed, whose total length will be 13 km. Modern technology like NATM (New Austrian Tunneling Method) is being used in the construction of these tunnels, which is considered extremely advanced in terms of safety and stability in tunnel construction.
In addition, the highest bridge to be built on the rail route will be near Surpagla village of Abuod block, which will have an height of 80 meters. Such structures show that it is not just a simple rail project but a new identity of modern Indian Railways.
From Sirohi to Sabarkatha: Four districts will connect
The project connects Sirohi in Rajasthan and Mehsana, Sabarkatha and Banasakatha districts of Gujarat. This will not only improve traffic facilities between two states, but will also provide better employment, education and business opportunities to the local residents.
Railways are currently doing land leveling, cutting of trees, soil testing and other primary construction works. A base camp has been set up in Maliawas village of Siawa area of Sirohi, from where construction works are being monitored and planned.
15 new stations and the largest terminal in Ambaji
A total of 15 railway stations will be built under this railway project. The largest of these stations will be built in Ambaji, Gujarat, where a six -storey passenger rest room is also planned. This station will be a big relief for millions of devotees during the religious events in Shaktipeeth Ambaji.
The proposed facilities at Ambaji station will be included:
-
Huge waiting room
-
Clinic and first aid center
-
High-speed ticket booking counter
-
Modern toilets and cafeteria
-
Dharamshala -like facility for devotees
Inspection of Railway Minister and railway officials: work gained momentum
North Western Railway General Manager Amitabh visited the Aburod-Ambaji railway line earlier this month and reviewed the progress of construction works. He has instructed the authorities to complete the project in a timely manner. It is clear that the government and railway administration are serious and committed to this project.
Religious tourism will get a big boost
This railway line is also very important from a religious point of view. Ambaji, which is the famous Shaktipeeth of Gujarat, will get huge relief to the devotees by reaching a direct train. Till now, there was a support of either bus or private vehicle to reach there. But now it will be possible to travel straight, cheap and comfortable with the train.
