This decision of the government is being considered as an important step towards enhancing the manufacturing capacity and economic development of the country as this strategically planned project spread across 9 states and 6 major corridors.
These industrial areas are located in Khurpiya in Uttarakhand, Rajpura-Patiala in Punjab, Dighi in Maharashtra, Palakkad in Kerala, Agra and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, Gaya in Bihar, Zaheerabad in Telangana, Orvakal and Koppathi in Andhra Pradesh and Jodhpur-Pali in Rajasthan.
40 lakh jobs expected from this program
Under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, these areas are expected to generate significant employment opportunities, with planned industrialisation generating direct jobs for about one million people and indirect jobs for three million people.
Earlier on Wednesday, a cabinet meeting was held under the leadership of PM Modi. Apart from PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were also present in this meeting. After the cabinet meeting, a separate meeting was also held between Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP National President JP Nadda.
Three infrastructure projects of Railways approved
Apart from this, three infrastructure projects of railways have been approved. 121 km third line from Jamshedpur Purulia Asansol, 37 km second new double line between Sardega – (Sundargarh district) – Bhalumuda (Rayagadh district) and 138 km third new line from Bargarh Road to Navapara (Orissa).
The cabinet has increased the agriculture fund. Agri Infra Fund was launched in the year 2020 with a fund of Rs 1 lakh crore. Apart from this, the cabinet has approved starting FM radio facility in 234 cities. For this, 730 channels will be auctioned.
