
New Delhi, May 21 (HS). Mixed signals are being received from the global market today. US markets closed on a strong note during the last session. Dow Johns Futures also seems to be trading with gains at present. Similarly, buying trend remained in the European market also during the last session. On the other hand, there is all-round selling pressure in Asian markets today.
US markets closed after trading with gains during the previous session. The S&P 500 index closed at 5,308.13 points with a gain of 0.09 percent. Similarly, Nasdaq ended the last session's trading at the level of 16,794.87 points with a rise of 108.91 points or 0.65 percent. Dow Johns Futures is currently seen trading at the level of 39,833.34 points with a gain of 0.07 percent.
There was a strong environment in the European market also during the last session. The FTSE index closed at 8,424.20 points with a gain of 0.05 percent. Similarly, the CAC index jumped 0.35 percent and ended the last session's trading at the level of 8,195.97 points. Apart from this, DAX index closed at the level of 18,768.96 points with a rise of 0.34 percent.
There seems to be all-round selling pressure in Asian markets today. Indices of all 9 markets of Asia are trading in the red with a decline. GIFT Nifty is trading at the level of 22,529.50 points with a weakness of 118.50 points or 0.52 percent. Similarly, Nikkei index declined by 0.07 percent and reached the level of 39,042.10 points. A big fall has been recorded in the Hang Seng Index today. At present this index has slipped by 401.89 points or 2.09 percent and has reached the level of 19,234.33 points. Similarly, the Straits Times Index declined by 0.38 percent to reach the level of 3,301.51 points.
Taiwan Weighted Index is trading at the level of 2,725.64 points with a weakness of 0.25 percent. Similarly, the SET Composite Index fell by 0.58 percent and reached the level of 1,370.76 points. Apart from this, Jakarta Composite Index is seen trading with a decline of 0.62 percent at the level of 7,221.52 points and Shanghai Composite Index is seen slipping by 0.42 percent at the level of 3,158.03 points.
