Market opened on the red mark on the last trading day of the week, Sensex close to 72,900 points

New Delhi: There have been ups and downs in the stock market in this trading week of March. Many investors have also suffered losses due to continuous fluctuations in the market.

On Thursday, the stock market had closed with a slight gain but today the market again started in the red.

Today Sensex opened 186.66 points down at 72,910.62 and Nifty opened 54.10 points down at 22,092.60.

Till the time of writing the news, 1557 shares on Nifty were trading in green and 862 shares were trading in red.

Top gainers and losers stocks of Nifty

On the Nifty, shares of Power Grid Corporation, NTPC, Tata Motors, Adani Enterprises and ONGC are seeing gains, while BPCL, Grasim, SBI Life Insurance, Infosys and M&M are trading with losses.

On the Sensex, shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, Axis Bank, HCL Technologies, NTPC and Asian Paints are in the red, while shares of Bharti Airtel, Power Grid, State Bank of India and IndusInd Bank are in the red.

In Asian markets, a decline was seen in Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong. US markets closed in negative territory on Thursday.

According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 1,356.29 crore on Thursday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude fell 0.18 percent to $85.27 per barrel.
