You need:
- 1-2 almonds
- a lamp (earthen)
- a little mustard oil or ghee
- a cotton wick
- a steel plate or spoon
- a clean, small box
Method of preparation:
- First of all, put oil or ghee in the lamp and cover it with a cotton wick.
- Now hook an almond on a fork or pin so that it becomes easy to hold.
- Light the lamp and start burning the almond by placing it over the flame of the lamp.
- As soon as the almonds start burning, place a steel plate upside down at a little height above it, so that all the black smoke or soot of the almonds gets accumulated on that plate.
- Let the almonds burn until they turn completely black.
- After this let the plate cool down. Then gently scrape off the soot accumulated on the plate and collect it in a clean box.
