This international smuggling network was exposed due to the raid on Betim Jetty

This entire high-profile case started on May 20, when the Goa Crime Branch received a secret information. After this, the police, as part of a well-thought-out strategy, conducted a swift raid near the Wholesale Fish Market located at Betim Jetty below the Mandvi Bridge. During this raid, the police caught two Nepalese nationals red-handed, who were identified as 36-year-old Arjun Biswakarma and 25-year-old Chetkant Oli. During the search, about 39.88 grams of high-quality heroin was recovered from them, whose estimated value in the international market was said to be around Rs 8.88 lakh. After the arrest of these two, when the Crime Branch started strict investigation, the layers of this drug network started being revealed one by one.

Order through mobile phone and payment through online banking, this is how the whole game was going on.

Based on the leads received from both the accused, the Crime Branch took the investigation forward and also arrested the third accused associated with this network, Narishor Bhandari, who is also a resident of Nepal. Very shocking revelations were made during the strict interrogation of these three foreign smugglers. Investigation revealed that these accused, sitting in Goa, used to order consignments of heroin from a big supplier based in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh through mobile phones. Advanced online banking and digital transactions were being used to hide money transactions in this illegal drug trade. As soon as the payment was confirmed, the delivery of heroin from Bahraich was sent to Goa, which these Nepali citizens used to consume at high prices in the coastal areas and party places of Goa.
