According to the latest update released by state-run oil marketing companies (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL) for September 25, domestic LPG LPG (14.2 kg) cylinder prices remain stable, while 19 kg commercial gas cylinder rates are stable at their existing monthly levels. No new increase in domestic gas prices amid festive expenses is proving to be a big relief for the general public and the monthly budget of housewives.

There is no change in the price of 14.2 kg non-subsidized domestic cylinder used in kitchen. The latest rates in major metros of the country are as follows:

The latest prices of 19 kg blue commercial gas cylinder used in hotels, dhabas, tea shops and restaurants in the cities have been recorded as follows:

• New Delhi: ₹2,747.50 per cylinder

• Kolkata: ₹2,884.00 per cylinder

• Mumbai: ₹2,701.00 per cylinder

• Chennai: ₹2,916.50 per cylinder

There is slight variation in the price of LPG in different states and cities due to local VAT, state level taxes and transportation costs. The estimated rates of 14.2 kg domestic cylinder in North India and other major cities are as follows:

1. Lucknow: In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, a 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder is available in the range of around ₹ 945 to ₹ 950.

2. Noida and Ghaziabad: The price of domestic cylinder in NCR region has been recorded at ₹939.50.

3. Patna: Due to transportation cost in Patna, the capital of Bihar, the price of domestic cylinder remains around ₹ 970 to ₹ 980.

4. Jaipur: In Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, the price of 14.2 kg cylinder is around ₹945 to ₹955.

5. Bengaluru and Hyderabad: In these tech hubs of South India, domestic cylinder remains stable at the level of ₹955 to ₹970.

More than 10 crore beneficiary families enrolled under ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’ (PMUY) are being given a targeted subsidy of ₹300 on 14.2 kg cylinder by the Central Government directly into their Aadhaar linked bank account (through DBT). This means that the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme are effectively getting the domestic cylinder in Delhi for only ₹642. This relief is available for a maximum of 12 refill cylinders in a year.
