
New Delhi: There has been a dispute over the transfer of Delhi High Court Judge Dinesh Kumar Sharma to the Calcutta High Court. After writing a letter to the Chief Justice against this transfer, now three lawyers have decided not to attend the hearing in the court of Justice Sharma. The lawyers claim that Judge Sharma has been transferred from Delhi to Bengal due to some allegations.
The Central Government had accepted the recommendation of the collegium to transfer Justice Sharma from Delhi High Court to Calcutta High Court. After which this whole controversy came to light. Three lawyers of the Calcutta High Court have decided not to attend Justice Sharma’s hearing. Earlier, the lawyers also wrote a letter to Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna and expressed their opposition.
The associations of lawyers opposing this decision, including the incorporated Law Society of Calcutta, the Bar Association of the High Court and the Bar Library Club of the High Court, wrote a letter to Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna requesting him to change his decision. It also claimed that we have information that this transfer was done due to some allegations. These allegations are related to the attitude towards the judge’s work. Earlier, Justice Yashwant Verma of the Delhi High Court was shifted to the Allahabad High Court after receiving cash from his house, which was also opposed by the Allahabad Bar Association. Now lawyers are opposing the transfer of another judge in the Calcutta High Court from the Delhi High Court.
