Kohli and Padikkal scored a strong half -century, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by seven wickets

RCB vs PBKS: After the brilliant bowling of Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Punjab Kings by seven wickets in a unilateral match in the Indian Premier League on Sunday in the Indian Premier League. Chasing a target of 158 runs in Punjab, RCB easily won 159 runs for three wickets with a 103 -run partnership for the second wicket between Virat Kohli (73) and Devdutt Padikkal (61). With this victory, RCB joined five teams including Punjab Kings, who have scored the most points so far. Punjab Kings, batting first, scored 157 runs for six wickets.

Due to the spinning bowling of left -arm spinner Krunal (2/25) and leg -spinner Suyash (2/26), Punjab lost wickets at regular intervals and no batsman could turn a good start into a big innings. For Punjab, opener Prabhasimran Singh scored the highest 33 runs while Shashank Singh remained unbeaten on 31 runs. Wicketkeeper English took a catch. After this, in power play, openers Kohli and Pudkal took the team’s score to 54 runs for one wicket. Kohli four off the ball of Xavier Bartlett while Padikkal hit a six off the fast bowler’s ball. Kohli welcomed Harpreet Brar with two fours and then hit two fours in Jenson’s first over. Padikkal showed aggressive attitude and hit sixes on Yuzvendra Chahal and Bartlet. He completed his half -century in 30 balls with one run off Chahal’s ball.

However, in the very next over, the dictator caught Nihal Vadhera on the boundary in an attempt to play a big shot off Harpreet’s ball. Kohli completed his half -century in 43 balls with a run off Jenson’s ball. RCB needed 14 runs in the last three overs and Jitesh Sharma (11 not out) ensured a win by hitting a six off Vadher.

Bengaluru’s bowling decision proved successful

Earlier, the Patidar team won the toss and decided to bowl. Prabhasimran and Priyansh gave Punjab a fast start. Prabhasimran welcomed Yash Dayal with fours while Priyansh hit a six and four in this over. Prabhasimran also hit three fours on Bhubaneswar. Priyansh hit two fours off Josh Hazlewood but in an attempt to hit a loud shot on Krunal’s ball, he bounced the ball in the air and Tim David caught an easy catch. In power play, Prabhasimran hit a six off Hazlewood and took the team’s score to 62 runs for one wicket. But later the team could score 157 runs. Punjab could only score 38 runs in the last five overs.
