Safe food: Enjoy local food, but keep in mind that it is coming from clean sources. Avoid stale or impure food.

Caution in driving: If you rent a bike or car in Goa, wear helmets and strictly follow the traffic rules. Drinking alcohol is the most dangerous and can be a heavy fine or jail.

Respect local culture: Goa has its own culture and traditions. Wear a respectable dress while going to any religious place.

Drinking alcohol in public places: Even though Goa is famous for its nightlife, drinking alcohol in public places such as beach, pavement or parks is a legal offense. You can pay heavy fine for this and you can also be arrested. Eat beer or other alcoholic beverages only inside the prescribed bar, restaurant or hotel.

Consumption of drugs: Keeping or consuming drugs in Goa is a serious crime. Strict legal action can be taken on involvement in any such activity, which provides for a long jail.

Illegal taxi or scooter rental: Use only government-recognized (government-authorized) taxi services. Avoid illegal taxis or scooters, as this may include cheating and illegal activities.

Use of polythene bags: There is a complete restriction (BAN) on the use of polythene bags in Goa. A heavy penalty can be imposed for promoting or using single-use plastic or using it. Always keep your reusable bags with you.

Spreading garbage in public places: Dirty or any public place is a crime. Please put the garbage in the dustbin itself.
