ITR-1 Using the

This form is most commonly used for filing income tax. This form is for resident individual taxpayers. For which there are some conditions. Using this form Rs. (1) Any individual taxpayer with income less than Rs 50 lakh can. (2) Income should be from salary, (3) Own a house, through agriculture earning Rs. People with income up to Rs 5,000 and earning from interest can use this form. Pensioners can also file tax through this form.

ITR 1 cannot be used by NRIs. Also, if a taxpayer has earned income through lottery then he cannot fill this form. Taxable capital gains, investment in unlisted shares cannot fill this form. If the taxpayer is a director or owner of a company, and has more than one house, he cannot file taxes under this form.

ITR Filing Process- 1

Form-16 is required to file IT return under Form ITR-1. Taxpayers can file returns online using ITR Form-1. After filling the personal details in the form, the gross total income has to be shown, then the total deductions and tax paid and tax liability have to be given. The last date for filing income tax returns is 31 July every year. After opening the official website of Income Tax Department, click on Income Tax Return on e-file option, in which a new icon will show File Income Tax Return option, click on it, if your PAN card is not linked to Aadhaar, then a. A warning message will appear stating that Aadhaar and page need to be linked.

  • Later choose online filing mode by entering assessment year, click on Resume Filing for your pending tax return. And for new filing click on Start New Filing
  • For filing on individual basis in Status, click on Individual and select ITR Form-1,
  • There will be an option of both new and old system in the tax system. Choose as per your choice, some deductions and deductions will not be available in the new tax regime.
  • Review your data and fill in the required details and click on Confirm, then add your income and total deduction details and click on Proceed.
  • Click on Total Tax Liability and after filling the details click on Pay Now
  • If there is no tax liability you are entitled to a refund. So click on the Preview and Submit Your Return option without filling the details.
