India Pakistan War: Government issued instructions for Jio, Airtel, VI and BSNL, instructed to be ready for emergency

The tension between India and Pakistan has increased dramatically. After the attack by Pakistan, the Government of India has increased security in the entire country. The government has advised every citizen to be vigilant. Apart from this, India has also issued important alerts for the country’s telecom companies. In which the private and government telecom companies of the country have been instructed to be ready for difficult situations.

Government issued instructions

The central government has directed all private and government telecom operators to strengthen the network infrastructure for emergency in the country. According to a report, the Ministry of Communications has directed telecom service providers (TSPs) to provide network without any disruption in the border districts and states and district level emergency operations centers (EOCs).

Cooperate with the state government.

These instructions were given in the meeting held on May 7. The ministry has said that safety of all important telecom establishments located within a radius of at least 100 km from international boundaries should be ensured. Instructions have also been given to prepare a list of all these sites and update it from time to time. So that India will be ready for the crises. The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has issued instructions to the local license service sector (LSA) chiefs to cooperate with the state government.

Telecom companies have been advised to strictly follow the standard operational procedures (SOPs) released for disaster management in 2020. In addition, companies have been ordered to maintain adequate diesel stock for generators at their mobile towers and other important communication places. Due to which there will be no problem in the network even after complete power failure.

Instructions to keep repair teams ready at strategic places

Telecom service providers have been instructed to deploy repair teams and essential teams at strategic places to ensure to restore the network in case of any disruption. Operators have been ordered to conduct extensive testing of communication devices, backup lines and media paths, so that there is no disruption in the network in an emergency. Along with this, instructions have been given to check the intra-circle roaming (ICR) facility and activate it as per the disaster management policy.

Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL and Telecom Department (DOT) have not yet responded to these instructions issued by the government. These instructions implemented by the government will greatly improve the credibility and security of communication services in the border and sensitive areas. The government has issued these instructions keeping in mind the current stressful situation.
